Southern Cross Switchboards manufactured two 1600amp, 36kA, IP42 motor control centres for the new Western Sydney Airport Fuel Farm. Our works have been designed in coordination with the Early
Works Foundations design, Building Works design and Fuel Works design to
capture monitoring, control and safety provisions for fuel farm operations, hazardous area equipment
requirements, fuel hydrant main leak detection system software and fuel farm emergency shutdown sequence. This design package focused on the aviation fuel control and automation system elements of the fuel farm and the fuel hydrant main.
Both MCC’s were over 6m long and required 1 shipping split which required us to attend the site and carry out the jointing of the sections, It is a big place and looks very impressive.
